Dawn Narrows (inspired by Willa Cather’s “Prairie Dawn”)
A golden bow that burns
A first, flippant freeze;
A swift stirring of unversed voices;
A dagger pierces and I cringe
From shadows framing a
Tapered boulevard;
A brilliant beam presses itself against the facade of my routine;
A long way from home.
